These are the criteria this Strength Score uses:

1.      Average starter points:  This is the average number of points your starters are scoring each week.  This is important in determining how strong your starting lineup is, in relation to all the other teams.

2.      Average bench points:  This is the average number of points your bench is scoring each week.  This is important in determining how strong your bench is, in relation to all the other teams.

3.      Possible wins:  This is the average possible number of wins your team would have each week if you played all 59 teams.  This is the main indicator of your relative strength each week.  This criteria is weighted double.

4.      Number of wins:  This is the number of victories your team has.  This is important because it is the first criteria used in advancement up the pyramid.

5.      Number of Division wins:  This is the number of divisional wins your team has.  This is important as each division contains a playoff spot, and this is another factor in moving up the pyramid.

This number takes all of that information and then crunches it into a Strength Score.  Obviously, the further into the season we go, the more accurate it becomes with the additional data accumulated.  

As a benchmark, if a team scored 100 points each week and their bench scored 50 points and they averaged 40 possible wins (the 67% percentile), with a record of 6-4 (2 divisional wins), their Strength Score would be:  16.54

Team Strength Score says as of now Horus would advance 7 and Anubis would advance 5.  I haven't looked to see where those teams stand in the hunt for advancement yet, but its fun to look at it based on the Strength score.

Ideally at the end of the year, the top teams using the strength score will be the ones who have advanced, but who knows whether that will be the case or not.

Joseph, I've been meaning to ask you what you thought about our pre-draft trade.  I'll go into more detail later, but I think it's one of those deals that did well for all involved.  Heck, I appear to be the only guy that drafted out of the 12-spot to be doing even close to OK  -  maybe it has to do with the fact that I didn't have any of my first 4 original picks?  ;)

I've been thinking about that a lot as well.  It looks like the trade did exactly what was expected.  It gave me a high risk high reward team, and gave you a ton of depth.

It just happens that I've gotten a bit lucky with injuries so far this year, but if I had one of my starters go out for more than a game or 2 I would be in serious trouble.  My bench is probably averaging somewhere near 0 points per game.

Basically, looking at the slim advantage I have over the other Horus teams, I find myself asking how much of that advantage is due to the trade, and where would I be if we didn't make it?  Interesting question, but right now it looks like a win-win.

Hmm a slightly different ordering, but the same 12 teams are on the top either way.  I guess that means that our advancement criteria and the team strength score are both pretty similar methods of ranking teams.
