After many months of careful deliberation and consideration, I have decided to shut down the UFFP. Personally, I have reached the end of a very difficult decision. In the fall, I started an evening MBA program at IU. Due to this additional demand on my time and my family, I can no longer continue running the UFFP. I simply cannot give this league the time it deserves. Basically, it feels that I have not done justice to the league and the members that pay each year to participate. In my mind, I have such dreams for the UFFP, but I can’t spend the time or the money right now to get it to where it needs to go. I hope you can understand how hard this decision was for me, both for the league and for you, the friends I have made over these past years. It is my complete intention to bring back the UFFP once school concludes for me, but I cannot in good conscience continue at this juncture.
I truly hope we can stay in touch and continue to remain friends and that we can all be reunited in a few years.
One last wish, the UFFP admins have given so much of their time over the years on this project. If you get the chance, please let them know what their sacrifices have meant to you and the leagues. Many a night they have drafted for you, set lineups, settled disputes, put together statistical spreadsheets, filled the boards with both their humor and understanding, and much more. Those guys in particular have made this league great and I would consider myself lucky to be in any league they were a part of.
A deep and sincere thanks to each of you for all of your help in making this one of the best leagues I have ever participated in. It has always been my mantra that good owners make a good league and each of you have proven that on many occasions during the past 8 years. I want to deliver my personal thank you to all of you for your efforts and contributions. Thank you for helping make my vision a reality.
